SMSTS (site management safety training scheme) Training – is the CITB Site Safety Plus 5 day course suitable for all site management and supervisors. Day release and 5 day block courses are both available. We also provide 2 day refresher training for those previously qualified within the last 5 years.

Any person within the building, construction and civil engineering industries, who has responsibility for any part of site management. For example: contract, project or site managers, foremen or site engineers, quantity surveyors, planners and those training to hold such positions.

This programme is designed to enable Managers to organise, monitor and measure both the health and safety performance on site and to establish and maintain safe systems and safe methods of work satisfying legislative requirements from information obtained during the course together with experience gained

By the end of the course delegates will be able to: Manage health and safety on site in accordance with current legal provisions and within the context of their management and supervisory roles. They also will be able to understand their legal, moral and social obligations to maintain a healthy and safe site, as well as consider the benefits and costs of implementation to their organisation. Additional course material covers the identification of potential hazards on site, preparing method statements, risk assessments and other statutory requirements of the Health and Safety at Work Act.
