NEBOSH General Certificate in Health & Safety
The NEBOSH General Certificate equips Managers, Supervisors and others with a basic knowledge and understanding of occupational safety and health related issues.
This course has been designed to provide a comprehensive overview of health and safety related topics/ requirements for the non-specialist working in an occupational health and safety role. It is also designed to enable staff to discharge their organisational health and safety responsibilities in a more effective manner.

Knowledge
By the end of the course delegates will be able to
* Understand the legal framework, moral and economic requirements and implications for good standards in health and safety within an organisation.
* Identify the key features of a health and safety policy, the preparations and performance review of a health and safety audit.
* Develop, promote and communicate an effective health and safety culture in an organisation.
* Understand the importance of proactive and reactive health and safety monitoring measures.
* Advise on strategies for controlling hazards, reducing risks and applying safe systems of work.
* Identify hazards in the workplace and carry out risk assessments, record findings and review procedures.
* Identify fire hazards and consequential risks, advise on measures to minimise fire risks and develop fire procedures.
* Explain the processes and procedures for investigating and reporting accidents at work.
* Identify ill health effects of physical processes of work and the environment and recommend suitable measures to combat risks.
